Discover the All-New PoCo Climb Phase 2 in Metro Vancouver

Outdoor lovers, fitness fans, and families—get ready. Phase 2 of the PoCo Climb trail in Port Coquitlam is nearly complete, and it’s shaping up to be Metro Vancouver’s most exciting urban trek yet.

What Is the PoCo Climb?

Developed by the City of Port Coquitlam, the PoCo Climb is a scenic, nature‑based trail designed to encourage outdoor activity and stronger community connection. It links Shaughnessy Street with Skyline Park, Eastern Drive, and ƛéxətəm (tla‑hut‑um) Regional Park—formerly known as Colony Farm—within the 25 km Traboulay PoCo Trail network.

What’s New in Phase 2?

Launched in January 2025, Phase 2 brings new life (and height!) to the project with:

  • 135+ new stairs winding through Skyline Park
  • A 122-step granite boulder stair scramble—great for active hikers
  • Smoother gravel trails, new bike racks, benches, signage, and more

When complete, the trail will feature over 300 stairs, with total elevation climbing from 5 m to 75 m. The full loop will cover about 6.5 km—perfect for a weekend nature fix.

Why the PoCo Climb Trail Matters

  • Health & wellness: A scenic way to stay fit and active
  • Community links: Connects neighborhoods like Citadel Heights and Castle Park
  • Accessibility: Thoughtfully designed for families, cyclists, and urban adventurers

Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West shares:

“Our city is committed to providing more opportunities to stay active… and Phase 2, with its unique granite boulder scramble and beautiful views, will make this addition even better.”

Despite weather delays, the full trail is set to open by late spring 2025, followed by a grand opening event (date TBA).
