Every year, Port Coquitlam comes alive for Canada Day, and 2025 promises to be one of the best celebrations yet. Canada Day in Port Coquitlam includes festivities from pancake breakfasts to fireworks, live music, and community fun, this event has something for everyone. Whether you’re a local or visiting the Lower Mainland, you won’t want to miss this.
A Full Day of Community Spirit and Festivities
The City of Port Coquitlam is hosting an incredible day of events on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 across multiple locations including Castle Park, Lions Park, and the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. Join the Canada Day Port Coquitlam events for maximum fun!
Morning: Fishing Derby & Pancake Breakfast
- 8 a.m.–11 a.m.: Kick off your morning with a free kids’ fishing derby at Lions Park. Open to children aged 10 and under—no registration needed, and prizes are up for grabs.
- 9:30–11:30 a.m.: Enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (Mabbett Hall) for just $7. Juice and coffee included! Plus, kids can enjoy free drop-in basketball and lacrosse (helmets required).
Afternoon to Evening: Castle Park Festival
Starting at 1 p.m., Castle Park becomes the heart of the celebration with Canada Day Port Coquitlam becoming the spotlight with:
- Live entertainment, including legendary Canadian rock band Trooper and country star Aaron Pritchett.
- A delicious spread from local food trucks, beverage gardens, and a Canada Day Market featuring artisan vendors and small businesses.
- Family-friendly zones with crafts, face painting, inflatable games, a spray park, and more.
Dusk: Fireworks Finale
Close out the Canada Day Port Coquitlam festivities with a spectacular fireworks display, choreographed by the professionals at FireWX, lighting up the PoCo sky.
New This Year: Canada Day 5K & 10K Race
Looking to kick-start your Canada Day with energy? The Canada Day Port Coquitlam race is the perfect way to do so at Gates Park!
- 9 a.m.: Choose between a 5K or 10K race, or sign your kids up for the 1K Kids Fun Run.
- All participants get a medal, and post-race goodies include snacks and refreshments.

Transportation & Accessibility
- Free shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes from downtown PoCo to Castle Park between 1–10 p.m.
- The event is fully accessible, including sign language interpretation, accessible washrooms, and mobility-friendly areas.
Be sure to bring your own water bottle, sun hat, sunscreen, and something to sit on (chairs or picnic blankets). Parking is limited, so plan ahead for your visit to Port Coquitlam Canada Day.
