Pinoy Festival 2025: We Rise – A Celebration of Culture, Community & Resilience

Burnaby, BC – Saturday, June 14, 2025 — Thousands gathered at Swangard Stadium for the highly anticipated Pinoy Festival 2025. With the theme “We Rise,” the event turned grief into joy, unity, and pride—making it the largest Filipino heritage celebration in British Columbia this year. 🇵🇭
What Does We Rise Mean?
This year’s theme, We Rise, came in response to the heartbreaking Lapu-Lapu Day attack that shocked Vancouver in April. A vehicle-ramming incident claimed 11 lives and injured many—including children.
By naming the event We Rise, the Filipino community showed the world how culture, compassion, and coming together can help heal.
